CBG oil – Herbmed | 5% (500mg) – 10ml
CBG is an abbreviation of Cannabigerol which is one of the most powerful cannabinoids we know of. Like CBD (cannabidiol), CBG is natural present as a phtocannabinoid in the cannabis sativa plant. CBD acts as the cannabinoids own stem cell. As the hemp plant itself grows, CBG is converted to CBD and other cannabinoids thanks to enzymes found in the plant. CBG therefore plays an important role when it comes to building CBD. Since CBG is converted to other cannabinoids, CBD is most represented in young hemp plants before the CBG is converted, which means that most crops have very little CBG when harvested.
CBG is often seen as the “mother of cannabis” as it, in its chemical form, is the precursor to virtually all other cannabinoids – of which there are over a hundred different varieties. Since CBG is the starting point for the development of cannabinoids, it is found in higher levels in younger plants compared to the other types of cannabinoids. This means that without CBG there would be neither CBD nor THC. Unlike THC, neither CBD nor CBG contains substances that make you high.
The CBG extract used for HerbMed’s CBG oil is extracted through a carefully controlled spagyric process that preserves the CBG molecule’s natural form. The unique extraction process is particularly gentle and preserves the plant’s original cannabinoid ratio, since the time of harvesting occurs before the hemp begins to produce THC and the final material is naturally free from THC. At the same time the extract has all the benefits of a true full spectrum extract. After quality control, the CBG extract is mixed to at least 5% CBG (500mg Cannabigerol/net weight) with MCT coconut oil with optimal fat composition.
CBG WITH MCT OIL IS THE PERFECT COMBINATION!
MCT oil is a medium-long saturated fatty acid with amazingly beneficial properties. MCT oil is absorbed directly by the intestine and is then broken down in the liver into ketones. The ketone bodies can then be transported straight through the brains blood barrier, without the help of insulin, to directly supply the brain with energy. MCT stands for Medium Chain Triglycerides and is medium-long fatty acids with many beneficial properties. Other types of fats need help from the pancreases’ bile and enzymes to break down. MCT oil can be absorbed directly from the intestinal mucosa and converted into ketones in the liver. The ketone bodies can then, without the help of insulin, go straight through the brain blood barrier to the brain.
CBD or CBG?
CBG and CBD share many characteristics with each other. By combining these two cannabinoids, they can enhance each other’s effects. So instead of thinking of it as CBD vs CBG, you can think of it as CBD plus CBG! When these two non-intoxicating cannabinoids are used together, an overall effect is created. Much research remains to be done before we solve the mystery of CBG, but there is a consensus that CBG may be one of the most useful cannabinoids.
